Here’s the answers to the questions First-Rate Maintenance gets asked most.
How much will my repair be?
Every job is different. Everyday maintenance jobs such as changing a toilet seat or replacing a hinge have a minimum charge of £55. This covers up to one hour of time spent on the job. If a job takes longer than one hour, we’ll charge you in 30-minute increments of £27.50.
Again, we can’t give you a fixed time. If possible, we’ll give you an estimate of how long the job might take when you enquire, but we charge £50 for the first hour and then £27.50 for each additional half-hour we’re at your property.
Can FRM give me a specific time?
We’ll confirm one of your preferred dates and a morning or afternoon time slot within 1 working day of receiving your enquiry.
What if I need to change the date once we’ve agreed on it?
We understand life gets in the way. We ask that you give us as much notice as possible – please call us on 0191 249 6493 to let us know and to rearrange. If you cancel within 24 hours, you may be subject to our aborted visit fee of £30.
Do I need to be present?
It’s entirely up to you. If you’re not going to be there, you can drop keys at our head office at Percy Park or we can collect them from someone else and the time taken to do this will be added to your final bill.
What areas does First-Rate Maintenance cover?
FRM covers the whole of Tyneside but if you’re outside this area, please get in touch or phone 0191 249 6493 as we may still be able to help.
Are FRM operatives vetted and fully qualified?
Yes. For your peace of mind, all First-Rate Maintenance operatives are vetted and fully qualified/or time served.
Do FRM operatives carry Identification?
Yes, all First-Rate Maintenance employees are issued with company I.D. and they wear company uniform at all times.
Do you work evenings and weekends?
Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm. If you need a job completing outside of these times, we may still be able to help, so please get in touch or phone 0191 249 6493.
How do I pay for the job?
We’ll email your invoice once the job’s completed and it must be paid within 14 days. You’ll have a choice of ways to pay.
What happens if I want the FRM maintenance operative to do an extra job whilst they’re at my property?
Your First-Rate Maintenance operative will assess the additional job and work out how long it will take. If they have time to complete it and you’re happy to go ahead based on our hourly rate, they‘ll do it then and there.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes. You need to agree to our terms and sign them before we arrange a date to come out.
What if I’m not happy with the work FRM has carried out?
In the unlikely event you’re unhappy with the service FRM has provided, please contact us as soon as possible so we can arrange to put it right.
